What grade of alarm system do I need?

Grade 2 Intruder Alarm System

Grade 2 intruder alarm systems, as a rule:

  • are installed in premises classified by insurance companies as low to medium risk.
  • have anti-tamper devices built into the control, signalling and detection equipment.
  • do not necessarily have anti-mask facility built into all the detection devices as standard but can have anti-mask detectors fitted in specific, higher risk, locations.*
  • have a self actuating sounder fitted to the outside of the building. Our sounder will always incorporate a strobe light, which flashes when the alarm activates.
  • If required shall signal to our Alarm Receiving Centre utilising either Grade 2, Grade 3 or Grade 4 single path or dual path signalling.

*Provided a Grade 3 panel is installed

Grade 3 Intruder Alarm System

Grade 3 intruder alarm systems, as a rule:

  • are installed in premises classified by insurance companies as medium to high risk.
  • have anti-tamper devices built into the control, signalling and detection equipment.
  • include as standard movement sensors incorporating an anti-masking feature. This feature creates an immediate alarm signal to warn that the lens of the equipment is masked in some way or, in some circumstances, the field of detection blocked.
  • will have a self actuating sounder fitted to the outside of the building. Our sounder will always incorporate a strobe light, which flashes when the alarm activates.
  • if required shall signal to the our Alarm Receiving Centre utilising either Grade 3 or Grade 4 dual path signalling
